metal-stack.cloud v1.6.1

We’re happy to announce metal-stack.cloud v1.6.1, a release focused on introducing support for Kubernetes 1.33, improving kubeconfig handling, control plane reliability and overall user experience across CLI, API, and Console.

Kubernetes Versions: added support for Kubernetes v1.33 and updated all prior versions to their latest patch release.

Kubeconfig: Kubeconfig handling has been improved throughout the stack, increasing the maximum supported expiration to 8760 hours. The metal CLI can now retrieve kubeconfigs without using using exec credentials and handles merges more robustly. In the console, kubeconfig expiration handling was refined and kubeconfigs can now be downloaded directly, making day-to-day cluster access more convenient and transparent.

High Availability Control Planes: Clusters will now be deployed and updated with HA control planes by default, significantly improving resilience and reliability for production workloads.

This release includes multiple visual and usability refinements in the console, such as clearer token expiration information, improved feedback for user actions, and fixes for form inputs and edge cases. These changes aim to make common workflows smoother and more predictable.

Beyond these highlights, v1.6.1 includes various bug fixes and under-the-hood improvements across the platform. As always, we appreciate your feedback, try it out and let us know how it works for you. Thank you for your continued trust and support!
