The challenge
As one of the leading IT service providers in the German financial sector, FI-TS was faced with the task of developing a cloud platform that would meet the highest regulatory and security requirements while delivering high performance and cost efficiency.
The requirement was for a multi-tenant, fully automated infrastructure on bare metal that did not require virtualization in order to utilize the full hardware performance.
At the same time, complex processes needed to be simplified and cloud resources made flexibly scalable – while fully complying with the financial supervisory authority's compliance requirements.
The solution
metal-stack made this vision a reality: Finance Cloud Native enables new clusters to be provisioned in minutes and seamlessly integrates central services such as databases, backup, and block storage.
The platform runs stably and audit-proof on over 1,000 servers in multiple data centers, offering FI-TS maximum transparency and control.
The decision to make metal-stack available as open source promotes innovation and collaboration within the community while strengthening technological independence.
Today, leading financial institutions such as DekaBank and DWP Bank rely on the platform as the foundation for sovereign, future-proof financial IT.
